At SEEK, we produce world-class products through our ongoing investment into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology. We're committed to using this technology to help you find fulfilling jobs and careers.
What are SEEK Recommendations?
When you use SEEK to search for or view job opportunities, we offer personalised recommendations that show you relevant jobs based on:
- how you use our website and SEEK app such as viewing and applying for jobs
- other job seekers with similar preferences and interactions and
- the information within a job ad.
Why does SEEK offer Recommendations?
We want to make it easier for you to find jobs and provide an alternative to searching. Our recommendation system provides personalised results based on your interactions and activities on SEEK. Using machine learning, our models aim to predict what jobs you may be interested in and how relevant they are based on your interactions with our services. Furthermore, new jobs are constantly posted on SEEK and we don’t want you to miss out. We understand that your needs may change over time, too. We combine all the data from our algorithms to surface job recommendations that are relevant to your needs as they evolve throughout your career.
How do SEEK recommendations work?
Jobs are recommended based on your interactions on our website, mobile apps and notifications (emails and push notifications). SEEK uses this data to predict what other jobs could be relevant to you based on your previous activity on our platform.
Our recommendation system responds and learns from your interactions on SEEK to recommend jobs to you. When you click on a job, even if it’s not the type of job you would normally click on, our system will start recommending jobs similar to that one. Here’s an example: If you’re an accountant, but just out of interest you decide to click on a job ad for an architect, we may start recommending architect jobs to you. That is why you sometimes see a job that may not match your profile. When you start clicking on other jobs that are of high interest to you, the recommended list will change again.
We are constantly optimising our recommendation models to ensure we deliver jobs that are relevant to you during your job search. We use new signals and retrain the algorithms to perform better over time.

What information do we collect from job seekers?
