If your business name or NZBN changes, we'll need some information from you to confirm these updates on your SEEK account. However, the information we need depends on the type of change required.
Please note that each SEEK employer account can only be associated with one NZBN. For us to amend your account name, we need to confirm that your NZBN details match your current business name.
The following FAQs only apply to New Zealand accounts, so if your SEEK Employer account is in Australia, you'll find the appropriate article here.

1. My SEEK Employer account reflects my old company name, but my NZBN details haven't changed. How do I get the name updated?

Confirmation of correct spelling |
We need the exact spelling of your business name as you want it to appear, both to job seekers, and on your invoices. |
Name Change Certificate or Confirmation of New Trading Name |
We may need to verify a Trading Name if it isn’t reflected on your NZBN. Providing a name change certificate helps us reduce any delays in processing your request. |

2. My SEEK Employer account contains a minor spelling error, but the rest of my details remain the same. How do I get this updated?

3. My NZBN has changed completely. What do I need to do?
Each SEEK Employer account can only be linked to one NZBN. So, rather than updating your old account, you’ll need to create a brand-new account associated with your new business’s NZBN.
To create a new account, head to our registration page, and follow the prompts. When you create a new account, you can still use your current email address. Once the new account has been created, and you’ve signed in, you will see both your new and old accounts listed.
4. I don’t need my SEEK Employer account, as the business is no longer trading. What do I do?
We can close your account for you, but please note, that your account can only be closed once all the invoices have been paid. Please confirm your account balance is at $0 prior to sending a request.
Here’s how to check for outstanding invoices:
- Sign in to your account
- Click your business name at the top right-hand side of the page
- Select payable invoices
Any outstanding invoices should now be listed, or if your account has $0 balance, you should see this message:
“This account is up to date. There are no payable invoices.”
