In a mobile-first world, templates no longer deliver the same value they once did.
Templates were first introduced 15 years ago and were built as a desktop-only feature to align with job seeker search behaviour at the time.
Since then, trends in device usage and job search have changed to heavily favour mobile. Now, over 70% of job seekers search for jobs via their mobile device, resulting in the visibility of templates dropping to less than 30% of the job seeker audience.
As employers are no longer receiving the same level of exposure and value that templates once offered, the product will be retired.
We want to focus on delivering an improved, more sustainable experience for both employers and job seekers.
Moving away from templates, now considered legacy technology that cannot be sustainably scaled to our mobile audience, allows our teams to focus on alternative solutions that are better suited to the evolved needs of both our employers and job seekers.
